Random Discovery of the Day...

Well this may be ignorant of me, but I am 20 years old and I have only just today discovered that some of the world (namely the US but probably more) marks the change in the seasons by the solstices and equinoxes. I cannot believe I didn't know that. I just assumed that everyone did the same as we do in Australia, which is to say that yesterday marked the 1st day of Summer for us (1st Dec 2008).

The extent of my use of the solstice on the 21st, has been, until today, that it is the longest day of the year.

I constantly forget and am subsequently surprised that there are so many differences in the small everyday things we do over the world ^_^

LOL, yeah, I'm no good with the conversion between C and F either. I know there's a 9 in the equation. *squints eyes* LOL. I hear y'all talk about 40degrees, and I'm thinking Brrrr, haha, and then I realize, probably not so much.

I also wonder how I failed to remember you were from Australia. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Yeah not so much! 40C is around 104F I think, hot hot hot at any rate. I'm the same but the opposite way! I hear you guys talking about 62 degrees and I'm all 'wtf! Is that even possible!?!?'

And now that you have said that, I feel like I remember that there is a 32 in there somewhere as well *ponders*

Eh, the whole Imperial system confuses, with the exception of height measurements, for some reason I am way better at estimating height in ft and inches, I'm terrible in metric at that, I have to work backwards ^_^
